My promise to you � as your doula, I will strive to be your best source of information, support, and coaching that I can be. Your pregnancy labor, and delivery are of utmost priority to me, and I will treat it as I would want my own to be. I will demonstrate integrity and ethics and strive to be professional in all I do. I will never undermine your confidence in your doctor and caregivers.
The benefits of having a doula have been statistically proven as follows:
- 50% reduction of use of pitocin
- 25% reduction in length of labor
- 30% reduction in use of narcotics i.e. Demerol, stadol etc.
- 30% to 50% reduction in use of forceps and vacuum
- 50% reduction in c-sections
- 60% reduction in epidurals

For me, becoming a doula is the culmination of over 30 years of training, experience and personal journeys that enable me to be the best assistance for you and your family. I cherish each birth and treat it as my own � tears included. I thank you for allowing me to assist you through this amazing journey of love, life, and miracles.
Dads!
Other benefits include a profound effect on the expectant father, which is often a good effect on the laboring mother. In addition, we will help you make informed decisions regarding your labor and delivery. We also have many resources available throughout your experience.
Fees
My fee is $300.00 and includes the following:
- Unlimited phone calls
- Minimum of 2 prenatal visits, but am able to do more if needed
- I will help you design a birth plan
- Assisting with choices regarding drugs, labor and comfort options
- Risks, concerns, any medical procedure before or during birth
- Absolute continuous support through your labor and delivery
- Help with breastfeeding
- Help with the unexpected c-section
- As many postpartum visits, usually 2, that you need to be comfortable with your baby
- On call for 1 month postpartum for any questions
Can't afford it?
If there is a desire to be attended by a doula, but finances prohibit it, please call me and something can be worked out. My goal is to give you the best birth possible within the scope of my abilities.
When you think you are in labor:
- I can meet you in your home and we can labor together there for a time
- I can meet you in the hospital
- In some cases, I can take you to the hospital
- The goal is for you to be as comfortable as possible for your first hours of labor so that the final hours slip by quicker.
